I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again, Grant-A-Wish is a fun convention, a great size, fab location, I could go on :)

Spring Sheaths

Just in time for Spring, we've added yummy berry coloured pink label sheaths and a Springtime green daisy printed sheath. Also in stock is a 'fur' swing coat that was a little late in arriving (is was meant to premiere at IDEX with the last set of pak fashions), but I'm sure it's still cold enough somewhere for it.

A vibrant metallic sheath in a pinky purple shade is perfect for Easter and complements our gold lame sheath.

Pink Label Fashions from IDEX

The new fashions that were previewed at IDEX are in stock and on-line, a couple have already sold out. We are trying to keep this line rather limited so get'em while you can.

The sheath above is beautiful with a zippered back and lined bodice, it's a classic look. The IDEX exclusive is also still available so those who could not attend can still get that beautiful set.

'Pink label' is our vintage inspired line, so silhouettes that are VERY familiar are done in different fabrics and interesting colours. Not to worry the 'Couture' collection is coming along and a lucky few got to see some samples of what's to come while visiting my booth at IDEX. Watch for the premiere of our 'Blue label' this July and perhaps at the same time one last line 'Prêt a Porter' We will also be offering some 'Pink label' items for 16" dolls this June so be sure to watch for that too.

New projects can be daunting and overwhelming but SO rewarding when the first counter sample arrives for approval.

IDEX Orlando

Dressmaker Details will be showing at IDEX at the end of January (29th-31st).

For the public day exhibitors are allowed to sell one item (limited to no more than 100pcs) from the floor (IDEX is primarily a trade show for the industry). Our item is a new Pink Label fashion consisting of a gown, shoes and gloves called Twilight Waltz. The gown inspired by vintage Barbie's 'Senior Prom' features alternating panels of tulle in black and black with silver sequins. The grey net gloves match the gun metal grey satin of the gown, the set also includes black spikes. A great set for only $48

On display will be the most current DDC fashions and some new never before seen pink label fashions. Though they are not ready to show, if anyone asks I have some DDC factory samples I can whip out if the booth is not too busy. Our booth is #610, I'll be sharing it with Marg and Rick from My Favourite Doll, they will be showing their wig and pantie hose lines for dolls, cool stuff to see on her side of the booth too!

New Pink Label Paks

Back from convention and I just finished updating the online shop with what's left of the new pak pieces I did for the FR convention in Chicago. Everyone loved the new colours for the classic shirtdress, the black satin with 'diamond' buckle was the most popular. The 2 florals were only an edition of 50pcs each so they won't last long. The red patent coat shown with the matching sundress sold separately was a hit with Poppy Parker fans it is also fabulous on Dynamite Girls, Misaki and NU face models. The red lame sheath is the same fabric as the Grant-A-Wish Sheath but is a brilliant ruby shade perfect for the holidays.

I hope to have an update on the balance of Windsong in a week or so, I did find maybe 3 Sheer Sparkle left here so when they are gone they are gone, I know some conventioneers were asking at convention, I only brought 10pcs and they went really fast.

FR Convention Exclusive

Back from Barbie Convention and lots to do. I've added to our shop the convention fashion 'Fifty, Fitted and Fine' I'm expecting them to arrive in the next week or so, but feel free to order now, your credit card will not be charged till it is ready to ship to you. The whole site now works that way, credit cards are processed manually before shipping, that allows us to catch errors in shipping charges or add things easily if you need anything last minute.

Also added to the shop and introduced at convention is the debut line of Dressmaker Details Couture Pink Label. A vintage Barbie inspired line of pak fashions (each one includes shoes) and all priced more affordable between $20-$35 each. They were a big hit so we only have limited quantities of each available. The edition size is smaller too only 100 pcs per style. Don't worry teh Couture line isn't going anywhere the next collection is in the works right now!

I've also put a few items on sale in the shop, nothing better than to multi-pack items and take advantage of our flat rate shipping no matter how much you buy its only one price.

I'm SO glad everyone liked 'A Golden Year' I'm really proud of that one and it was great to do something for Barbie's 50th. I know a lot of collectors are looking for one, I don't have any extras, your best place to find it is eBay (sorry about that :()

Barbie Convention Exclusive

Here is a sneak peak of my exclusive fashion for this year's Barbie convention called 'Fifty, Fitted and Fine'. Appropriately named, it features a fitted trumpet gown of black faille with a nude lined lace bodice, scattered with beading and finished with a bow. The back of the gown features an inset panel of beautiful beaded lace. Pink shoes, fishnet gloves, purse and drop earrings complete the ensemble.

I'll have only 100pcs with me at convention (the other 200pcs are arriving later in July), the factory was busy getting the other convention surprise ready that everyone will just have to wait and see what I'm referring to. :)

When the 100pcs are sold, I'll be taking names on a list to make sure conventioneers get first dibs on this beautiful outfit. Also in room sales, starting Monday night, I'll have a fun satin sheath (limited to only 150pcs) featuring a print perfectly suited for Barbie which includes hot pink shoes. Also in room sales (and the salesroom if any are left), I'll have some of our older sheath sets, some boxed fashions, last ones of some fashions. some shoe paks as well as table gift shoes, all pre-boxed in groups of ten, perfect for last minute table gifts. Still more news to come.....

2009 Barbie Convention Silent Auction

For the silent auction this year, I'm entering a collaboration between myself and Rob Thompson of Robsdolls. He did this fabulous re-root and repaint to create a Barbie 'Dovima' . The display for our piece called "In the Bookshop" was my salesroom display last year from Kansas City, I had SO many comments on it, it seemed like a great chance to donate it help raise money for charity. I hope everyone coming to DC will take a peek and write down a bid or two you never know, you might win :)

I know its been a while but I've been busy getting ready for Barbie Convention, we're leaving (driving down) on the 4th of July. Lots in store and for sale in my room as well as the salesroom. Sheer Sparkle arriving soon!

The wait for the highly anticipated fashion Sheer Sparkle is almost over, we are expecting it to arrive towards the end of next week or just after Easter (so dealers should have them a week or so after that). Collectors have been loving this look based on the sketch alone and they will not be disappointed. The dress itself has a noticeable weight to it, with the layers of pleated tulle, embroidery and crystal beading it is a true work of art. Sheer Sparkle Speculations

I finally found some time this Christmas break to put up this post. Many have been asking me why I changed the colour for the forthcoming Sheer Sparkle fashion, the fact is I didn't. I'm sorry to disappoint, but maybe my sketch wasn't clear, it's really just a mix of taupes and greys with a brown satin bow. The embroidery placement changed a little bit but the colours have been right from the start. I hope to have some more pictures of this fashion to share soon.
