| With a little patience and a lot of practice, you can create beautiful roses that will last from season to season. Use them on clothing, gift-wrapping, home decorating or for any special occasion. |
| Materials |
- Ribbons (various widths depending on the size of rose desired) - Needle and thread |
| a) |
Fold a length of ribbon along the bias (a 90º angle) creating a triangle approximately 4" from one end of the ribbon. |
| b) |
Roll the ribbon along the folded edge to create the bud of the rose. Tack stitch it in place. |
| c) |
Holding the long end of the ribbon between the thumb and forefinger of your right hand, turn the ribbon away from you as you roll the bud towards your right hand. This action creates the petals of the rose. Continue this pattern until you have achieved the fullness desired for the finished rose. |
| d) |
When done, with the remaining thread, stitch the lower petals to the upper petals through the bottom of the rose. This final detail will ensure that the rose does not unravel. |
